The challenge
The venue was busy when the city was busy. Thursday to Saturday looked healthy, and the rest of the week carried the same rent, staff and licence costs on a fraction of the takings, so the weekly total swung enough to make planning difficult. Paid activity was pushing the nights that already sold, which is the easiest budget to spend and the least useful.
Creative leaned on the game format rather than the reason people actually come out, so it spoke to the same small audience over and over. There was also no reliable way to tell which spend had produced which booking.
